On 21st, July, 2022, The University of Ilorin commisioned the commercial poultry farm at Amoyo, Kwara State.

The poultry, UNILORIN GGMAX Farm, was established through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Tertiary Institutions Poultry Revival Scheme (TIPRES) in partnership with Zenith Bank Plc.

According to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sulyman Age Abdulkareem, the farm also has 4 fully built Layers’ pens currently housing 17,000 chickens, though with installed capacity of 33,000; a feedmill of 5tons/hour; a semi-automated broiler processing unit of 1000 bird per day.

It should be noted that Caretech division of Animalcare Services Konsults Ltd supplied and installed the layer cages and wire mesh on the farm.


The Executive Director, Dr. Opeyemi Agbato, while delivering his speech commended CBN for supporting the projects and lauded Unilorin for ensuring the successful actualization of the project. He also noted that Animalcare is known for providing quality services with over 40years in the poultry industry.
